UCF Celebrates Two Leaders in Responsible Investing - United Church Funds

United Church Funds (UCF) salutes two visionary leaders of responsible investing who were recently honored at the Fall Conference of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR).

UCF, a founding member of the ICCR, a coalition of faith- and values-based investors, joined in honoring these luminaries at the ICCR Annual Event held October 23 in New York.

  • Amy Domini, founder of Domini Impact Investments, a women-led asset management firm, and creator of the first stock market index built around social and environmental standards, paved the way for values-aligned investing long before it became popular. She is also the author of Ethical Investing (1984), the first comprehensive discussion of the subject, which is still widely read today.
  • The Rev. Séamus Finn, a long-time leading voice on human rights and worker rights, brought international perspectives and applied the principles of multi-party dialogue to shareholder advocacy. The Rev. Finn’s focus on “who’s not at the table” raised up the concerns of communities in trying to make change.

United Church Funds salutes these giants of sustainable investing who have helped to establish a solid framework for corporate engagement and whose influence is felt in UCF’s engagements with such companies as Dollar General and JPMorgan Chase.

As we carry their legacy and inspiration forward, we keep in mind that responsible investing is not just about numbers; it’s about shaping a more just and sustainable world. UCF remains committed to using the power of capital to advance faith values and create lasting impact.
