As the first half of 2022 closed in July, many of us were left feeling unsettled. In addition to the market moving into bear territory, there were several end-of-term Supreme Court decisions upending longstanding precedents around abortion, gun control and climate change.

In a live Zoom meeting on August 9, the UCF team provided an update on market performance in the second quarter of 2022 and our responsible investing efforts. We also introduced Gabby Bolden, a labor activist from Step Up Louisiana, who shared her experience at Dollar General’s recent shareholder meeting. Gabby traveled as a UCF proxy to demand a safe working environment and better pay for workers – only to find herself and others denied entry and locked out of the meeting.
