The Rev. Nelson is the Transitional Conference Minister of the Missouri Mid-South Conference (UCC). She previously served as Regional Minister for the South Central Region of the Connecticut/Southern New England Conference (UCC), and as pastor at Malletts Bay Congregational Church (UCC) in Colchester, Vermont. She has also served on multiple boards and task forces focused on leadership development, stewardship and finance, and social justice and equity across the UCC. Rev. Nelson led the creation of the Conference’s Carbon Credit Income Distribution Policy, which uses a church-owned tree farm to generate revenue through the sale of carbon credits. She obtained a Professional Certificate in Leadership and Management from the University of Vermont, a Master’s Degree in Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Grinnell College.
