Elizabeth Walker - United Church Funds

Elizabeth (Beth) Walker has been a member of Old First Reformed UCC in Philadelphia for over 30 years. Beth has been a civil trial attorney for over 40 years and is currently Of Counsel to Chartwell Law, LP, where she heads their training program for new attorneys in the Philadelphia area. Beth earned a B.S. in Economics from Rutgers University, studied applied ethics at Colgate Rochester/Bexley Hall/Crozier Theological Seminary with an emphasis on economic justice, and earned her J.D at Temple University School of Law.

Beth currently serves as Moderator of the Philadelphia Association of the United Church of Christ, where she actively plans training programs for Local Churches. She is an active member of the Keystone Conference Racial Justice Initiative Team, which provides educational programs addressing Christian Nationalism and Anti-Racism training.

In the National Setting, Beth serves on the United Church of Christ Board of Directors class of 2028, serving on the Audit Committee. Beth previously served on the Manual on Local Church Working Group, which created the UCC Manual on the Local Church, and served on the Board of Directors of  the UCC Cornerstone Fund, which she chaired from 2020 to 2024.

At Old First, Beth is involved in the Outreach Ministry to the Homeless and on a support team for Old First House, a joint venture, wherein the church property, in the heart of the city, was provided to build 34 single-resident units of permanent supportive housing for previously unhoused individuals.
