As a demonstration of our support for the Black Lives Matter movement as well as our commitment to changes that lead to lasting justice, UCF will observe Friday, June 19, as a holiday in celebration of Juneteenth. Therefore, our offices will be closed for business that day. We will respond to any client communications sent on Friday, the 19th when we return to our work on Monday, the 22nd.

Juneteenth, which commemorates the reading of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas, occurred two and half years after the Proclamation was supposed to have freed all enslaved people. This made Texas the last and final Confederate state to acknowledge the ending of slavery in the United States. For additional information about this holiday, please click here. We encourage you to participate in a Juneteenth event near you or online, including the UCC live webinar.

We thank you for your understanding and your shared commitment to social justice.
