Ms. Edith Guffey has served the UCC for over 30 years. Ms. Guffey is currently the Conference Minister for the Kansas Oklahoma Conference, where she provides support for 60 churches in two states and works alongside the Board of Directors in financial leadership and development. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the national PFLAG, the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies.
Ms. Guffey’s prior roles include — Associate Conference Minister for the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference and Chief Operating Officer for the UCC National Offices in Cleveland, OH. She also served on the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and Affordable Housing Advisory Board both in Douglas County Kansas, and continue to work on the task group focused on racial disparities in the jail and the overall system in Douglas County.
She holds a BA in Sociology from Baker University in Baldwin City, KS and an MSW from the University of Kansas. She has extensive board administration and strategic leadership experience and lives in Mayfield Heights, OH.
