UCF heats up its fossil fuels engagements

Shareholder engagement with Occidental Petroleum Corporation (Oxy) and Archer Daniels Midland is among the recent actions UCF has taken in its work around the fossil fuels resolution.

Included in these engagements was a resolution to Oxy, co-field by UCF, asking for more transparency around its lobbying activities. As a member of ALEC, who has lobbied to oppose climate change policies, it is suspected Oxy helped fund this lobbying — contradicting its public commitment to climate change. UCF, along with other investors, also convinced Archer Daniels Midland to develop and implement a human rights policy as well as agricultural targets for climate change. To read the full story, click here.
