Investor Groups Are Defending Shareholder Rights
United Church Funds is a member of several organizations defending the rights of shareholders to present shareholder resolutions to the companies we own.
The new US administration and its views has encouraged the Business Roundtable to label the shareholder resolution process as burdensome. Of course, responsible investors believe that the shareholder resolution process is a healthy way for corporate owners to have a stake in the improvement and forward directions of corporations.
We are proud to be a member of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, USSIF, and a signatory of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment – several of the groups that have endorsed the statement to the National Economic Council which opposes the Business Roundtable’s stance.
